Blog is back!

It's been a really long time since I've posted anything to this blog.  I suppose that's good news in a way!  Nothing so dramatic has happened since March (my last post) that warranted a posting for all of you to be updated about!

We've just been going about our days enjoying Ian.  So I figured I'd try and take some time out and give you some of the latest on how he's doing.

To begin, Ian was baptized back on May 8th, which also happened to be Mother's Day. Needless to say, Kristin was weeping with joy the entire day.  The priest that baptized Ian is the same priest that married Kristin and I.  Interesting fact: I was an alter server for Father Bob when was first ordained.

L-R: Christopher Gauld (Godfather), Jim, Kristin, Ian, Lori LaFayette (Godmother), Fr. Bob Washabaugh
After the Mass, we had a very nice reception at a local restaurant called the Lyric Cafe.

The most recent and exciting "milestone" lately is the appearance of Ian's first tooth! It's his lower-front center tooth on his right side (Lower Right Central Incisor, for all you dentists out there).  He's very secretive about it—always keeping it covered with his tongue or lower lip—but you can see it if you look real quick when he's laughing.  His second tooth, the one right next to it (Lower Left), just broke the surface a few days ago.  This is a good thing because it was bothering him quite a bit, and as a result, none of us were getting any sleep at night.

At the end of May, Ian had his regular shots, weighed in at 20.8lbs and measured 27-3/4 inches long!  According to the doctor, this puts him in the 50th percentile for height, and the 75th percentile for weight.  As you can see in his latest pictures, he's got some chubby legs that I presume can only mean that he's going to break some family height records as he stretches those folds out!

He's not quite crawling yet, but he does spin on his belly and stretch himself really long quite well.  He's gotten to where he can hold himself up on his arms and knees and rocks back and forth.  It won't be long before he's mobile!

Now that summer has arrived, Ian's Tarinelli cousins—Emily, Sarah and Kate—are out of school, and Ian gets to spend a lot more time with them!  He is also now subject to the imagination and creativity of three Princess-obsessed and highly motivated little girls who didn't waste time dressing him up as soon as they could.

The top picture was after we all got to go see a local production of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" at the Garde Theatre where Kristin and I were engaged.

In the bottom picture, you can see the crown that Emily meticulously crafted after taking Ian's head measurements.  It's a perfect fit!

I think that's all for now.  You can see all of Ian's latest pictures by clicking on any of the links in the right sidebar under "Family Pictures."

I'll post again when I can!

Ian Rolls Over!!!

In mid-roll!

I am one proud Daddy!!! Ian rolled over from back to front last night! The pics you see here are him showing off this morning. He can't get enough of this "rolling-over" thing now!

Of course, he hasn't figured out what to do after he's gotten to his belly... but he'll figure it out soon enough, I'm sure.

I have video of the roll from last night, I just need to get it off the archaic digital miniDV tape from our camcorder.

Once I do though, I'll post it for all to see.

Love this little face!

Ian had his 4-month shots last week, though he actually just hit his 5-month mark. His official weight was 17lbs 15oz, with a height of 26in. No problems, other than the occasional bout with reflux still.

He's taken to this saucer quite well. It actually sits a little lower than another one we have, which is good 'cuz his legs are a little short (genetics working against him, I guess).

Still Blogging!

Hi all!

Well, you may have thought that I'd completely given up the blog. Well, no. But I have been sorta busy. Ian, as you can see, is getting much bigger, and now that he's laid down for a nap, I can start up with the blogs again on occasion. Will keep you posted!
