Day 5 - Friday, October 29, 2010

Ian is doing great!  Today was a big day for him!  He got his first bath and his circumcision.  I got video of the bath (not the other).  Will post it as soon as I convert it from the older miniDV tape to digital.  (Gonna have to consider getting a new video camera with a flash drive!)

As for the medical stuff... he was taken off his glucose IV on Wednesday and his levels have been great since.  O2 levels remain perfect.  His left arm, which was a little lethargic right after birth, is moving great and is quite strong!  His jaundice is clearing, but they are still monitoring him for that.  He was taken out from under the photo-therapy lights yesterday, but may go back in today depending upon how his blood work comes back.

The doctor says he won't be coming home today, but there is a good chance he will go home tomorrow depending, again, on how the blood work comes back for the jaundice.

Other than that... Kristin is exhausted, as you might imagine, but doing well.  My job has been making sure she gets as much rest as she can, feeding her and helping her feel as human as possible.  Hard to do when she's feeding Ian every 3 hours or so!
